I see that you have added some References and Tools :)

Something else worth knowing (and I haven't seen it publicised recently) is the free online access to Oxford University and other books through local libraries. There is information about the national agreement (running until about March 2008) here

By using the membership number from my local library I now have access at home and free to the OED, DNB, the Times from 1785 to 1985 and lots more. Check the website of your local library for 'online resources' or similar to see what you can get access to.

Hi Susan.

Thanks for the info. I am aware of the program as we have the Cornwall Library Service CyberLibrary available to the public where I work at the Cornwall Record Office but other members may not be aware of it. Obviously we have quite a lot of contact with the MLA at the CRO (I also work at the Royal Cornwall Museum so even more so for me). So, I've used the free service on quite a few occassions and think that it's a fantastic resource. It's a shame that I cant add a module for searching the CyberLibrary, but I'm sure that I could put a link to it somewhere; though it may well be different for each separate library service so I'm not sure about that. We probably ought to have a writer's resources links page somewhere. Maybe on the References & Tools page. I'll try and set one up tomorrow. I'm sure that most of our members would be able to add some really useful links there. If there's a national CyberLibrary or links page to all of the county library services I'll try to track it down.
